When making a decision to hire a guide for any outdoor activity, it is important to know what to expect. Although seasons and conditions have an enormous impact on how the day will play out, some things will remain unchanged such as the professionalism and desire of Orion Fishing Charters to provide our clients with a quality day on the water!

Orion Fishing Charters is owned and operated by Chris Hughes.  He actively guides full-time on waters here in northwest Georgia. He takes pride in Orion’s water craft and equipment as they are our “office” and “work place” everyday. We currently operate one center console boat daily which is a proven fish catching water craft and our latest addition is our custom built aluminum hull river boat.  When choosing Orion as your guide on Lake Allatoona, the Etowah or the Coosa Rivers, the day will be spent aboard one of these two beautiful boats.

The Lisa Ann

Our first boat is a 21 foot Sea Hunt Super Skiff. The Sea Hunt Skiff, aka “Lisa Ann”, powered by a Yamaha four stroke  can accommodate up to six anglers making her ideal for large groups, often  used for corporate trips and  larger groups as in bachelor, and birthday trips.

The Shoal Cracker

We are proud to introduce the latest addition to the Orion fleet, Shoal Cracker! She is a custom built, aluminum tunnel hull river boat 18 feet in length with an extra reinforced bottom covered with UMHW to aid with the rocky bottoms of the areas we fish. Powered by a 115 horsepower Tohatsu TLDI jet drive outboard, and outfitted with a Super Bait tank and Garmin electronics including GPS mapping. Her duty is to access the skinny waters of the upper and lower Etowah river, Coosa river, and all their tributaries pursuing the fish and game we all love.
